Module Aims

To foster the development of your compositional style, within the context of practical opportunities offered by the Department.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this module you should be able to:
  • demonstrate an enhanced individual style
  • compose for a range of occasions and situations
  • interact with confidence with performers of your music
    present your scores in a clear and professional manner
Module Content
Manuscript techniques. Composition for unaccompanied melody instrument (coursework 1), with some study of models from which to learn. Guidance towards several opportunities for coursework 2, towards a piece for the Joyœ Dixey concert (examination), and towards presentation of the complete folio.

Occasional lectures, and individual tutorials as required.
