Module Overview

This module will enable students to move forward in preparation for their dissertation specifically by reflecting on their studies in the degree thus far.  Students will collate, organize, and summarize their work over the first two years (or three, if a placement year was involved), presenting this summary in the form of a portfolio.  This portfolio might include an up to date CV, essays (and, if applicable, revisions), feedback (from tutors, peers, and the public) on performance work, and/or creative work in the form of video recordings, designs, or creative writing.  The portfolio will include a compulsory element of a written reflection on the learning journey that has been undertaken.  The module will simultaneously require students to focus their interests and energies in a particular field or discipline within theatre studies; this focus will be reflected in the production of an annotated bibliography, which may be used as the first stages of research for the dissertation.
