Module Overview |
This is a Level 3 module for Russian. It is taught in the target language, over Autumn and Spring Semesters, two contact hours per teaching week. Attendance is compulsory. |

Successful completion of Level 2 Russian modules or equivalent |

Module Aims |
The aim of the module is to gain language skills at upper-intermediate level. It builds on the knowledge and competence acquired at Level 2 and enables students to develop their competence in oral and written Russian. It is expected that on completion of this module students’ competence in Russian will be between level three and four on the six-level scale of competence laid down in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. |

Learning Outcomes |
On successful completion of the module, students will:
- be able to communicate using a large variety of grammar structures and diverse vocabulary.
- have developed their competence in spontaneous speech (immediate reactions to situations, holding coversations and discussions, expressing opinions)
- have improved their reading and understanding
- have improved their listening and understanding
- accurate use of sufficient vocabulary in communication.

Module Content |
The module will consist of a number of topics, including the following: culture, history, ecology, social life, inerpersonal relations, profession, everyday situations. Each topic combines training in communication, comprehension and grammar and is based on up-to-date materials, which improve students awareness in various aspects of everyday life in Russia, as well as Russian culture social relations. |

Methods of Teaching/Learning |
Two contact hours per teaching week in Autumn and Spring Semesters. All classes will be taught in the target language. Classes are practical and interactive. |
