Module Aims

This module aims to provide you with advanced knowledge and understanding of theory and practice in accordance with three of the eight Stage 1 British Psychological Society competencies that are prerequisite for Chartered Status. These competencies are ‘Training’, ‘Performance appraisal and career development’, and ‘Counselling and personal development’. Through the knowledge and skills acquired in these areas you will further your development as an evidence-based practitioner.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the module, you will be able to:
•    use popular techniques in career counselling and coaching
•    conduct a career counselling interview
•    analyse careers using theories and models of careers
•    analyse training needs
•    design a training course based on theories of training and learning
•    evaluate a training course
•    deliver an engaging and effective training course
