Module Overview
The module will involve a combination of lectures and workshops. The lectures will cover a particular statistical concept; the theoretical and mathematical basis will be explored using research examples, in class experiments and simpler illustrative examples, also incorporating technological aids to further student centred interaction. The workshops will focus on 'practising' the theoretical content of the preceding lecture, using data sets to be explored via SPSS from a student-led approach. These together will provide experience and knowledge of theoretical coverage and analysis from a more practical perspective which will yield a firm grounding in statistical methods in psychology.
