At least 60% in either Performance 2a or Performance 2b, or an average mark of both if appropriate.

Module Overview
The purpose of this module is to enable you further to consolidate skills as a solo performer.
Prerequisites/Co-requisites
Co-requisite: Performance 3A
Co-requisite: Performance 3B
Module Aims
To present a solo concert performance. For the purposes of this module description the term “solo” means either appearing on your own without any other contributors; or as accompanist; or as featured player within a small team of players (if appropriate to the style). All cases must be discussed in advance with the Head of Performance.

All repertoire and ensembles/groups for assessment must be agreed by the Head of Performance to ensure acceptability.

All performance assessments at HE3 will be held in formal concerts.
Ensemble performances must have between 2 and 5 players in total.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this module you should be showing:

• an ability prepare and present a performance as a soloist
• a broad range of technical/musical skills appropriate to your repertoire and suitable as a foundation for further study
• many of your own practice and rehearsal techniques, and applying them appropriately without guidance
• a fuller understanding of the range and appropriateness of interpretative decisions, and the ability to apply these decisions with confidence
• strong self-confidence on stage and ease in coping with the contingencies of performance
• ease and command in communicating with your audience
• a high level of awareness, sensitivity and understanding as an ensemble participant, if appropriate
• a high level of responsiveness to the musical needs of other performers if appropriate
• a wide knowledge and in-depth understanding of the range of repertoire available to you, and appreciation of its place in the repertoire
