Module Aims |
To develop your skills as a conductor to a level that prepares you to take HE3 Conducting A or B. |

Learning Outcomes |
By the end of this module you should be able to:
- demonstrate an appreciation and some basic practical application of a physical, gestural technique for communicative conducting
- apply such skills to a limited range of music
- participate in informed discussion about a range of conducting issues in a group

Module Content |
Continuation and development of the study of essential beating patterns (including those for more complex metres); detailed study of the essentials of harmonic, textural and formal analysis (as appropriate to score learning); aural exploration of a range of different musical styles; shaping of musical structures through gesture. |

Methods of Teaching/Learning |
Weekly one-hour seminars, plus individual coaching by the Conducting tutor as required. Observation of others' rehearsals. |
