To enable you to develop your skills as an ensemble performer, appropriate to this level, and not necessarily confined to a single instrument/voice. |

Learning Outcomes |
By the end of this module you should be able to:
- demonstrate competent instrumental/vocal ability
- display enhanced independence of learning
- make evident your experience of concert presentation and management
- display the benefits of further experience as an ensemble performer.

Module Content |
Performance seminars, chamber music coaching, workshops and rehearsals (choir, orchestra, ensembles etc) and basic tuition in conducting.
|

Methods of Teaching/Learning |
- appearances as an ensemble performer in various departmental concerts and recitals
- for instrumentalists and singers, participation in orchestras, choirs or other designated ensembles
- for pianists, accompanying instrumentalists or singers in Tuesday or Wednesday recitals, a share of rehearsals of the University Choir, and participation in the Croser-Hughes Award
- attendance at designated Performance Seminars
- participation in recording sessions
- tutorials with the Module Convenor
- concert management duties
- attendance at weekly Conducting seminars in the Autumn semester.
NB For those students taking Ensemble Performance ONLY. You are required to submit a Performance Log by Friday, week 11 in the Spring Semester. This is to ensure that Department records are correct. This does not affect the requirements for the Solo Performance module.
