Module Aims |
- To introduce the arts funding system and the policies and issues that shape and influence the arts and music professions
|

Learning Outcomes |
Upon completion of this module you will be able to:
- Describe and explain the infrastructure, key policies and institutions governing the provision of the arts, and music in particular, in the UK.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the issues facing arts providers and policy makers
- Articulate current debates in the arts

Module Content |
Current issues and debates concerning arts provision including education, funding, access, equal opportunities, disability issues and cultural diversity. An overview of the structures that support and shape arts provision, such as government and quango funding bodies. Students will be expected to contribute to group discussion during lectures, and to have undertaken preparatory background reading as advised. |
