Module Aims
To develop your understanding of the basic musical characteristics of the most commonly used instruments in classical music and the way composers write for them.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completition of this module you should be able to:

*demonstrate your ability to read and understand a score
*outline the capabilities and restrictions of various classical instruments.
Module Content
Introduction to characteristic features of instruments (piano, strings, harp, woodwind, brass, some percussion) and the music written for them

Transposition from written to concert pitch.
