Module Aims |
- To give an overview of a range of career opportunities in various music contexts in order to assist students in choosing appropriate professional development and training for Levels HE2, Level P and Level HE3.
- To introduce students to principles of skills analysis and continuing professional development

Learning Outcomes |
Upon completion of this module you will be able to:
- Identify a range of careers open to the music graduate
- Identify and describe the common and specialist skills, knowledge and experience needed to undertake work in specific contexts, amateur and/or professional
- Recognise and evaluate your own capabilities and interests in relation to different work contexts

Module Content |
- Introduction to a range of professional careers including the role and function of music practitioners in administration, management, education, creating and advocacy.
- Exploration of the knowledge-base of various professions – e.g. music/arts administration, educational practice, management practice
- An overview of the current trends in careers in music and related fields
