Module Overview |
This module develops students’ individual and group skills in creating film narratives, focussing on the development of fictional scenes using actors and locations.

Prerequisites/Co-requisites |
Successful completion of MFC1009 Introduction to Audio Visual Media. |

Module Aims |
• To provide a framework for developing an idea into a short film production
• To study the issues that arise out of the creation of fictional scenarios
• To gain a critical awareness of students’ own strengths and limitations
• To gain an understanding of how teamwork operates in the context of fiction filmmaking
• To gain an understanding of the importance of organization and time management |

- Practical exercises in regard to working in teams and with actors,
- blocking and movement within the frame,
- pacing and composition,
- colour and
- location sound.

- Practical exercises during and outside class, with feedback from both students and tutor
- 70 additional hours of shooting exercises, location shooting and post production
