Module Overview
This module develops students’ understanding of film through an in-depth study of British fiction cinema.  It also develops research skills (through use of off-campus resources) and writing skills (through a staggered approach to essay writing and planning that is assessed both formatively and summatively).

None.
Module Aims
  • To develop students’ understanding of film through an in-depth study of British cinema

     

  • To develop knowledge of key aspects of and moments in historical and contemporary British cinema

     

To provide the opportunity to develop writing and research skills
Learning Outcomes

At the end of this module students will be able to:

 

 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the history of British cinema

     

  • Understand how British cinema fits into a global context

     

  • Identify key moments/ films/ genres/ figures in the history of British cinema

     

  • Connect contemporary British cinema to the history of film in the

     

  • Use a variety of sources and resources to independently research their essay
