  • To effectively communicate technical details of the work undertaken in a written report
  • To demonstrate an appreciation of the organisation in which the student is working
  • To demonstrate an understanding of the students place and role in the organisation
  • To evaluate the contribution of the placement to the personal development of the student
Module Content

A report of 40-70 pages will be written in line with the guidelines set out by the Department. This report should contain general information about the company and the placement, as well as a more detailed technical description of the work undertaken during the placement.

The student will be required to give a presentation on the technical aspects of the work done on the placement during the first three weeks of the autumn semester immediately following the placement.

The report must normally be submitted to the School Professional Training Secretary on the first Monday of the autumn semester immediately following the end of the placement. However, some discretion on the deadline will be used by the Senior Professional Training Tutor if there are circumstances beyond the control of the student that prevent the deadline from being met.
