Module Overview |
The content of the International HRM module maps onto the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) International HRM module and forms part of an integrated programme of study accredited by the CIPD for Graduate membership. The syllabus extends the subject matter of the Managing Human Resources module into the international arena and exposes students to the intercultural aspects of people management. |

Module Aims |
The aims of this module are to provide participants with an understanding of the management of human resources in an international context, to examine the political and economic factors which influence the decision-making processes of multinational organizations, and the way these affect HR strategies and policies. |

Learning Outcomes |
- Identify and evaluate the challenges of cross-cultural management to organizations
- Analyze the theoretical perspectives regarding potential challenges associated with expatriate employees and propose suitable strategies
- Critically evaluate the differences between domestic and international HRM
- Diagnose individual and organizational development needs and propose strategies for organisational development
