Module Overview |
This module is designed for L3 students returning from their placements. It will allow student the opportunity to discuss and recognise their personal and professional development throughout their PTY and to share their knowledge with level 2 students. |

Module Aims |
The module aims to:
- facilitate L3 student transition from P Level to final year;
- assist reflection on the year abroad with reference to PDP;
- provide students with opportunities to discuss their placement experience.
- enable students to mature through personal and professional development and the evaluation of their placement experiences.

Learning Outcomes |
On successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
- recognise the skills they have acquired and developed during their first two years at university and their placements;
- prepare effectively for full-time employment;
- make career decisions based on professional experience.
- apply academic knowledge to professional practice situations
- execute operational decisions ensuring that the organisation’s goals are being met
- understand and demonstrate their acquired transferable skills
- evaluate their personal and professional development
- produce a comprehensive report evaluating their professional experiences
- use the information gained on placement to inform their career aims
- demonstrate observation, analysis and critical evaluation of operational practices

Module Content |
Students attend a de-briefing session in the first weeks of semester 1. This session provides the opportunity to reflect on the placement experience in terms of personal and professional growth, discuss it with peers, and further evaluate the placement in country/language-specific group work.
Students write a report of their experiences focussing on their personal development and relating the theoretical knowledge gained in the first two years to the professional environment.

Students will attend a workshop to aid reflection and a student led conference to feed back their experiences to the second year students. |
