The core of this module is the six to eight-week placement spent in supervised work in environment-related work. The placement may be:
• industrial: with a firm or company engaged in environmental management or with activities directly affecting the environment;
• local authority and other public agency engaged in sustainabilty and agenda 21 issues;
• NGOs, environmental pressure groups and non-profit advocacy organisations engaged in work related to environmental degradation; preserving biological diversity, and stakeholder participatory action;
• public health organisations;
• media outlets such as the BBC.
The range of activities undertaken during the internship will be agreed between the placing organisation and CES to ensure that the experience undertaken will permit the achievement of the learning goals.
