Module is intended to provide a bridge between the research activities of the academics and the contents of the MEng programmes in Chemical and Process Engineering by providing experience-based, independent research based learning focused on individual projects

Module Content |
On successful completion of the module you will be able to:
i) Confidently demonstrate familiarity with the major stages of planning, executing and reporting a research project
ii) Effectively search and interpret the appropriate literature and confidently design a practical or numerical test of a theory
iii) Evaluate experimental or simulation results, draw logical conclusions, check on the applicability of published theoretical analysis, propose considered recommendations based on the evidence
iv) Write a journal/conference article of an appropriate standard

Methods of Teaching/Learning |
Introductory tutorials (10 hours), weekly meetings with supervisors (80 hours), oral presentations (10 hours) and independent learning (500 hours).
