Assessment Pattern |
A mark will be calculated from the Industrial Supervisor’s assessment. In the case of “with Language” students approximately 15% of the mark for the assessment will be attributed to the student’s competence in using the foreign language as a means of communication, both at work and socially. This will be moderated by the Visiting Tutor – either through discussion leading to an agreed mark or by the subsequent application of a multiplying factor between 0.8 and 1.2. A further moderation may be carried out by the Professional Training Panel, in order to ensure consistency of standards between placements. |

Methods of Teaching/Learning |
A Tutor from the University will visit towards the end of the placement. It is expected that the work and the performance of the student will be reviewed and discussed by the Student, the Industrial Supervisor and the Visiting Tutor (the precise organisation of the meetings is a matter for local practice, but each of the parties must be involved at some stage). The Industrial Supervisor will be asked to complete a Final Assessment Form (example appended). |
