Module Aims

To allow part-time students who are prevented by their employment from performing normal project work, the opportunity to present project-type work carried out as part of their normal employment.

Learning Outcomes

Students will be able to display competence in the field of study by presenting work done in the normal course of employment.

Module Content

The students may use work that they performed as part of their job. The work should be written up in the form of a dissertation and submitted for internal oral examination in the same way as M.Sc. projects are examined. The presented work, including time spent in writing up and preparing for examination, should equate to a minimum of 300 hours of effort. For work performed as a member of a team, it will be necessary to include supporting evidence from the company as to their degree of involvement.
