Module Overview
In recent years, the environment and natural resources have become central policy issues for governments across the world. This module examins why this is and looks at the solutions that economics offers for the problem of how 'best' to use these vital resources

Module Aims
The module aim to provide students with an ability to understand the nature of the environmental and natural resource problems from an economist's perspective. It also aims to help students to be able to critique current environmental policies using economic theory and evidence
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this module students will:-
understand the meaning of common terms used in the literature of environmental and natural resource economics
have gained a critical appreciation of the various methods of measuring environmental costs and damages
be able to assess policy towards local, national and global environmental issues
understand the principal theories formulated by natural resource economists
understand potential links between environmental growth and natural resource depletion
