Module Overview |
The student produces one site-specific choreography from a directional position. This provides an opportunity to explore and develop skills in making site-specific performance, focusing on the choreographic use of space. |

Module Aims |
To provide a detailed knowledge and understanding of choreographic practices and principles with specific reference to the organisation space and contexts for choreography. To develop creative, practical and critical skills in choreography, especially in relation to making site-specific dance. To foster increasing autonomy in choosing and planning choreographic work. |

Learning Outcomes |
Knowledge and Understanding A detailed understanding of a range of compositional devices and structures used in choreography. A detailed understanding of movement phrasing and its organisation in space. A keen awareness of issues relating to the creation of site-specific work. An appreciation of the communication of meaning through choreography. |

Module Content |
The module explores the choreographic management of space through a site-specific project, a seminar that considers site-specific practices and theories of the organisation of the body in space drawn from Laban analysis. |
