Module Overview
This module defines the final report of a Professional Training Year
Prerequisites/Co-requisites
Module Aims
To develop professional report writing and presentation skills, and provide an insight to the Professional Training Year
Learning Outcomes

A successful Professional Training Year Report will:

 

·          demonstrate an appreciation of the organisation in which the student is working.

 

·          demonstrate an understanding of the student's place and role in the organisation.

 

·          demonstrate an understanding of the work carried out during the placement.

 

·          demonstrate an appreciation of the impact on the placement of the student's academic work undertaken at University, and of the potential impact of the placement on the student's Level 3 studies.

 

evaluate the contribution of the placement to the personal development of the student.
Module Content

Module Content

 

A report of approximately 15 pages will be written in line with the guidelines set out by the Department in the Professional Training Handbook.

 

 

A full colour A2 or A1 poster (or equivalent size using multiple A4 pages) that presents highlights of the Professional Training Year, and provides an informative summary of the Written Report suitable as a standalone explanation for the placement to a Level 2 student

Both written report and poster must normally be submitted to the School Professional Training Administrator by the end of the first week of the semester immediately following the end of the placement.

 

Methods of Teaching/Learning
The module documents a year of suitable work in an industrial or commercial computing role, and is supported by the Visiting Tutor.
