Module Overview
This module builds on the knowledge and skills acquired from HE2 Synthesis & Sampling 2a and introduces advanced controls and methods that will be use of those students looking to create unique sounds and live instruments. You will be given the chance to work with real-time controllers to shape your performances and to acquire advanced skills in the use of the use of virtual orchestras.
Prerequisites/Co-requisites
Co-requisite: HE2 Synthesis & Sampling 2A.
Module Aims
The aims of this module are to:

• Provide you with the technical skills to create complex software instruments
• Advance your understanding of synthesis and sampling, including real-time control
• Develop your understanding and use of virtual orchestras for your creative practice

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this module, you should be able to:

• Build, customise and adapt virtual synthesisers.
• Build, customise and adapt sampler instruments.
• Control these instruments and integrate them into your creative practice.
• Describe the principles of a virtual orchestra and integrate into your compositions.
Transferable skills:
• Adopt a professional approach to your musical activities whether working individually or with others.
• Take responsibility for academic work with minimum direction
