Module Aims
Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this module you should be able to-:

  • Describe the molecular and cellular function and metabolism of various micronutrients
  • Explain role of nutrient-gene interactions in determining health and disease
  • Describe the roles of nutrients in health and disease at different stages of the lifecycle
  • Evaluate considerations relating to life stage-specific nutritional requirements
  • Critically assess current research literature and recommendations for nutrient intakes in health and disease
  • Work independently demonstrating initiative, self-organisation and time management
